Dear Parents,
It was great fun welcoming the children back to school last Tuesday. They were rested and ready to begin the second half of this school year.
Our multi-cultural coffees in the fall were so successful that the Lower School administration is extending an invitation to any interested Lower School parents to join us for lunch on Friday, January 31, or Tuesday, February 11, from noon until 1:00 pm. This is an informal way for us to get to know one another better. You can rsvp here. We hope you will be able to join us.
A number of you have asked me how you can be more involved in the life of our school. There are many leadership opportunities available, and now is the time to self-nominate for the 2014-15 school year. We are looking for parents to serve in a number of key positions that include the Lovett Parent Association, LionBackers, Friends of the Arts (FOTA), Lovett International Alliance (LIA), and Parent Support Group. If you are interested, please take a moment to complete the self-nomination forms online.
Believe it or not, it is time to begin thinking about the summer months. Lovett is offering a number of wonderful programs for Lower School aged children. Registration has already begun! Please be sure to check out the Lovett webpage to see if any of our camps are of interest.
Please remember, if you are requesting an excused absence or early dismissal for your child, please direct those requests to Darlene Walls at [email protected]. She will make sure I review the request and will reply to your email.
There are many opportunities for children to share items from home. For security reasons, please make sure none of these resemble a weapon. We need to be mindful of doing all that we can to keep our school secure.
Here are a few reminders:
Please do not hesitate to let us know how we can be of help to you and your child during the upcoming months.
Warm regards,
Mary Baldwin
Lower School Principal
