Dear Parents,
I hope your family had an exciting and safe Halloween. We loved seeing the children in their costumes on Friday. It was a fun day for everyone.
I would like to thank all of the parents who worked so hard to make the Fall Festival such a wonderful event for our Lower School children. A special thank you goes to the Chairs of the festival this year: Wendy Hahn, Elizabeth Hark Ebert, Elizabeth Castellaw, Laura Schmidt, and Kelly Turner. We also appreciate all the work our Chair Elects did for the festival: Megan Stephenson, Burch Hanson, and Gigi Rouland. Their guidance and leadership made this festival a huge success. The smiles on the faces of the boys and girls showed just how much they enjoyed the day. It is events such as this that embrace our school/parent partnership that truly sets us apart from other schools. Thank you for all you do to support the Lower School and your children. We couldn’t do what we do without you!
There are many items I want to remind or inform you of so I am keeping the rest of this newsletter short.
Best,
Edi Houghton

- Please remember that after Halloween, the boys need to wear long pants. They may wear shorts again after Spring Break.
- At 3:30 PM, children not picked up from 2:50 PM carpool will be sent to ASAP. You will need to call ASAP or come inside to get your children if you arrive after 3:30 PM. Carpool is usually finished by 3:20 PM on Monday–Thursday. Friday can be a bit longer due to not having tutorials or enrichment classes.
- We have a late start of 8:45 AM Wednesday, November 5. Please RSVP if your child will be arriving before 8:15 AM when PRIDE begins to open car doors. This is important so we can provide adequate supervision in the morning.
- Lovett Winter Camps - Looking for fun activities for your child during the holiday break? Lovett’s Winter Camps has just the solution for you! Don’t get left out. Read about the multiple camp offerings by clicking on Lovett's Winter Camps.
- As many of you may know, Cynthia Coleman is retiring from Lovett as Director of Auxiliary Programs. I am pleased to advise you that Lydell Smith has joined the group as Cynthia's replacement. Some of you may recognize Lydell's name, as he has for several years served as the director of youth services at Agape Community Center, with which Lovett has a strong partnership. I know you will enjoy working with Lydell. His contact information is [email protected], or 404-262-3032 x1337.
- Lovett Youth Wrestling Program is an instructional league geared towards students grades K-5. The season starts November 10, so sign up today at www.lovett.org/athletics.
